The Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAEPIA) is a biennial forum open to researchers from all over the world to present and discuss their latest scientific and technological advances in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). The XXI edition, held in Jaén from November 11 to 13, 2026, hosts several high-profile federated conferences, most notably the XVII MAEB (Spanish Congress on Metaheuristics, Evolutionary and Bioinspired Algorithms), chaired by Jesús Sánchez-Oro, a member of the GRAFO research group at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
The Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAEPIA) is a biennial forum open to researchers from all over the world to present and discuss their latest scientific and technological advances in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). Authors are kindly requested to submit unpublished original papers describing relevant research on A.I. issues from all points of view: formal, methodological, technical, or applied.
The XXI edition of CAEPIA will take place from November 11 to 13, 2026 at the Antigua Escuela de Magisterio in Jaén, Spain. The event hosts several high-profile federated conferences:
The XVII MAEB is one of the most prominent events within CAEPIA 2026. This congress aims to be a meeting forum and knowledge-transfer space among researchers in the field of metaheuristics and bio-inspired algorithms, with special emphasis on exchanging experiences in optimization problem-solving.
We are proud to highlight that the chair of the XVII MAEB is Jesús Sánchez-Oro, a member of the GRAFO research group at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. This represents a recognition of the group’s research track record in the field of metaheuristics and combinatorial optimization.
MAEB topics include, among others:
CAEPIA also organizes a Doctoral Consortium, a forum for PhD students to interact with other researchers by discussing their thesis projects.
