Artificial Intelligence PhD Student

Universidad Rey Juan Carlos

Cristina Tobar is a PhD student in Artificial Intelligence at Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), where she conducts her research within the framework of an Industrial PhD program. Since 2023, she has combined her studies with her professional role as an Optimization Scientist at OGA.ai.

Regarding her academic background, she graduated in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Seville in 2023 and completed the Master’s Degree in Analytical Methods for Big Data at Carlos III University in 2024.

Her research interests focus on hybridizing heuristic and metaheuristic algorithms with exact methods, simulation, and Machine Learning to improve the solution of stochastic optimization problems. This includes the development of simheuristic algorithms and Artificial Intelligence techniques applied to industrial and stochastic optimization problems.

Professionally, she has participated in optimization projects applied to critical business processes and maintains an active research agenda focused on publishing her work and applying it to real industrial problems.
