Cesar Beltran-Royo was born in Chert (Castellon, Spain) in 1968. M.S. degree in Mathematics from University of Valencia in 1991 and Ph.D. in Operations Research from Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona) in 2001. Postdoctoral stage at University of Geneva (Switzerland) from 2002 to 2005. Associate Professor (Prof. Titular de Universidad) at the Computer Science Department of King Juan Carlos University (Madrid) from 2005 till today.
His research interest is on Computational Optimization and its Applications (cost optimization, location of services, risk analysis, scheduling, energy management, environment, etc.). Among his scientific achievements, he has pioneered the Semi-Lagrangian relaxation for Combinatorial Optimization (with professor Jean-Philippe Vial) and the Conditional Scenario approach for Stochastic Optimization. He has also collaborated with companies such as Repsol (optimal oil well placement) and Bayes Forecast (optimal advertising planning).
